La Joie de Vivre: Finding Peace in the Present Moment
“La joie de vivre” — that’s the phrase for my new tattoo. It means “joy of living,” and it’s something I want to carry with me, especially as I prepare to move to a new place. To me, this phrase represents the excitement of starting over, the pleasure of discovering new places and meeting new people. It’s about truly living in the moment, living each experience as it comes, and finding happiness in the journey ahead.
As I quietly sit in my parent’s kitchen in Connecticut, writing this, I realize that this moment is special and won’t come around again. The peace I’m feeling right now will change in a few months when I leave. It might seem small to some, but in my parents’ house, everything feels calm and perfect. I’m enjoying this moment, knowing it’s unique and won’t last forever.
There will definitely be other days and experiences that will shape my own “joie de vivre,” but right now, this is my moment. I’m sharing these thoughts in the hope that others might relate to this feeling of peace and anticipation. Even though it might seem small, this moment in my parents’ house feels incredibly special to me. I hope that by writing this, I can connect with others who understand the beauty of appreciating this simple moment.
