Reigniting Our Inner Light

Do you remember when you were little, when there was a light inside of you? You were always happy, excited, unafraid to dream big. Embarrassment or nerves never really seemed to touch you. You had so many plans for the future, and everything felt possible. But somewhere along the way, as you grew up, that light seemed to fade. What happened?

I recently had a conversation with a friend, and we ended up discussing how many people around us are struggling mentally. It feels like we suddenly became adults, and now our days are filled with work, worry, and endless responsibilities. We’re stressed about our families, anxious about ourselves, and constantly bombarded with news that doesn’t exactly ease our minds. Every day, it seems like we’re fed some kind of negative information, and we’re expected to just push through, pretend everything’s fine, and get back to work.

Remember the light we all used to have in our eyes and hearts? That spark of excitement and joy that made life feel magical? It feels like it’s missing now. So how do we find it again? How do we bring back that sense of wonder?

Maybe it starts with giving ourselves permission to slow down. We’ve gotten so used to living in survival mode, but perhaps it’s time to reconnect with the things that make us feel alive. It could be something small — a moment of gratitude, a spontaneous adventure, or simply doing something that brings us joy, just for the sake of it.

That light we had as children hasn’t disappeared. It’s still there, quietly waiting for us to notice it again. Reclaiming it won’t happen overnight, but if we start paying attention to what truly matters — peace, passion, excitement — we can begin to nurture that spark. Step by step, we can reignite the light that once guided us. And maybe, just maybe, we’ll find ourselves shining even brighter than before.
